"Ever Changing View"

“Ever Changing View”, this is a small painting, 6″ x 8″, oil on canvas panel. This painting has SOLD.

When I was much younger, this path was a jeep track you could drive down on to park on the beach. If I venture much past the front of the beach shack now, I would drop 10 feet onto the sand below. Despite the massive erosion, it is still a very memorable view looking out towards Squibnocket…

"Summer's Over"

“Summer’s Over”, this is a small painting, 6″ x 8″, oil on canvas panel. This painting has SOLD.

Some fishermens’ shacks are shuttered for the season. Lobstermen begin to pull traps for the fall. Striped bass and bluefish are migrating past as the waters cool from summer’s heat…

"Crabbing Bridge"

“Crabbing Bridge”, this is a small painting, 6″ x 8″, oil on canvas panel. $750.00 USD

The sun popped through the clouds long enough to illuminate the bridge for my painting. Then it played hide and seek with me until it set…

"Lifeguard Jaws Beach"

“Lifeguard, Jaws Beach”, this is a small painting, 6″ x 8″, oil on canvas panel. This painting has SOLD.

I found this view the other evening when out swimming. While not the same partly cloudy evening with red sky as I first observed, I enjoyed this scene in the cloudless sunset…

"Home From Cuttyhunk"

“Home from Cuttyhunk”, this is a small painting, 6″ x 8″, oil on canvas panel. This painting has SOLD.

I was not scouting for a particular view when I started out today. In my van by this beach path watching terns dive for their dinner, I wondered if the fishing would be good. Opening the tail gate to grab my fishing rod, I got my paints out instead. As I began painting, every 15 or 20 minutes another sailboat would come through the passage between the far islands and pose for me…

"Chilmark Country"

I pulled over to make a cell phone call. As I talked, I became entranced by this sunny view. I enjoyed the scenery for another 2 hours routed to this spot…

"Sun And Rain"

“Sun and Rain”, this is a small painting, 6″ x 8″, oil on canvas panel. $750.00 USD

I had to stay in my van to paint this view. The sun was over there, but the rain was over here…

"Up The Dune"

“Up The Dune”, this is a small painting, 6″ x 8″, oil on canvas panel. $750.00 USD

Spotting this thundercloud while driving from east to west, or as we would say, going up-island, I tried to imagine a fun foreground to paint with the impending storm beyond it. A half hour later found me here in the dunes. As this was earlier in the day than I am use to painting, I was unsure of the shadows I would find. A cone shaped dune gave me no complaints in that department…

"South Beach To Squibby"

“South Beach to Squibby”, this is a small painting, 6″ x 8″, oil on canvas panel. This painting has SOLD.

Except for the clouds, it was a calm gentle evening. The sunset did not amount to much, but this southeasterly view caught all the subtle colors…

"Kayak Launch"

“Kayak Launch”, this is a small painting, 6″ x 8″, oil on canvas panel. $750.00 USD

In summer, if it’s really hot, I’ll take an evening swim here. In winter it is a nice viewing spot to watch the sun set just beyond the point. It’s always great to paint here…
