I WORK EN PLEIN AIR, OUT IN THE COUNTRYSIDE… Welcome. I am back to painting again after a sabbatical that included a few pieces done for charitable fund raisers. I am continuing to make small, 6" x 8", landscape oils, but not every day. I am also working on larger pieces. Every time I finish a painting, I will place it here on my website. Big rollers were coming in on the beaches after the high winds of the weekend Northeaster had passed. I found a spot from which to paint on the cliff top, yet in the lee of a nearby house. The beach below is full of double fist size rock and they rolled and tumbled creating a soothing rhythm as I painted…

This painting was a request from a few weeks ago. The wind and weather had conspired against me until today with wind coming from the South, but rain possible at any moment. I tried out my painter friend’s new Open Box M easel and tripod in a waterproof box in a waterproof backpack. It turned out to be a very enjoyable mile hike to and down the beach to get the view I liked. The borrowed gear was very comfortable. I could have hiked farther with ease and will again soon…
